ABOUT RESET WITH VIX emotional wellbeing

It started in a real classroom.emotional wellbeing
Reset with Vix was created from real experience — working with children whose behaviour was often communicating far more than we could see on the surface. Because behind the refusal, frustration, worry, silliness or inability to focus, there is often a child trying to manage something they don't yet have the skills to understand. Reset with Vix helps children understand what's happening, discover what helps, cope with everyday challenges and build skills they can carry with them for life.
WHY RESET EXISTS
Behaviour is often the bit we see first.
That changed the question from:

"How do I get this child to stop?"
to

"What might this child be trying to tell me - and what skills could help?"
During my time as a primary school teacher, I worked with children who found different parts of the school day incredibly difficult. Some couldn't sit still or focus. Some became frustrated or overwhelmed. Some avoided activities, struggled when routines changed or found friendships difficult. Others became the class joker, withdrew completely or repeatedly asked to leave the room. And sometimes, the behaviour could be really challenging.
But the more I got to know those children, the more I realised that simply trying to stop the behaviour wasn't enough. I needed to understand what was happening underneath it. A child might be overwhelmed. Worried. Frustrated. Dysregulated. Unsure what to do next. Or simply unable to explain what was happening in their body and mind.
THE RESET APPROACH
More than just calming down.
Emotional wellbeing isn't simply about teaching children to “be calm”. Children need to recognise what's happening, understand what their body might need, develop ways to cope with difficult situations and gradually build the confidence and resilience to move forward. That's why the Reset Approach is built around four simple pillars:

What's happening to me? Helping children recognise emotions, notice body signals and understand their feelings and triggers.
UNDERSTAND IT

What might help my body right now? Practical ways to regulate through movement, breathing, grounding and mindfulness.
REGULATE IT

What can I do about this situation? Building practical strategies for worry, conflict, change and asking for help.
COPE WITH IT

What can I learn and build from this? Developing confidence, resilience, perseverance and helpful thinking.
GROW THROUGH IT

Understand it → Regulate it → Cope with it → Grow through it.
The aim isn't for children to never struggle. It's to help them gradually build a toolkit they can draw on when they do.
HI, I'M VIX.
I've spent more than 20 years working with children.
I'm Vix — a former primary school teacher, performing arts educator and the founder of Reset with Vix. For more than 20 years, I've worked with children in classrooms, performing arts, children's entertainment and community settings. I've seen children at their most confident and enthusiastic — and I've also supported children through worry, frustration, overwhelm, friendship difficulties, challenging behaviour and moments when everything simply felt too much.
Those experiences taught me something important: Children don't just need adults to help them through difficult moments. They need opportunities to gradually build the skills to understand and navigate those moments for themselves. That's why I created Reset with Vix.
But to give children and the adults supporting them simple, practical tools that can become part of everyday life.

Not to make every child calm
Not to remove every difficult emotion
And not to expect teachers to become therapists
BUILT FOR REAL LIFE
Wellbeing support that fits into a real school day.
Teachers already have enough to do. Reset with Vix is designed to make emotional wellbeing easier to weave into everyday classroom life — without another mountain of planning.
Created from first-hand teaching experience, with an understanding of busy classrooms, changing needs and limited time.
REAL CLASSROOMS
SKILLS, NOT QUICK FIXES
Children aren't expected to simply “calm down”. They build a growing toolkit for understanding emotions, regulating, coping and moving forward.
PREVENTATIVE, NOT JUST REACTIVE
Children shouldn't have to reach crisis point before we teach them about emotional wellbeing. Reset helps build these skills before they're needed most.
PRACTICAL & READY TO USE
Simple activities, press-play resources and practical tools that teachers can actually use during the school day.

“Something doesn't feel right.”
The goal isn't a classroom full of calm children.
It's a classroom where children are gradually learning to notice:
And eventually to be able to say

“I think I know what's happening.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE

“What might help me right now?”

That's the journey.
Not dependence on an adult always telling them what to do, but gradually developing the emotional awareness, strategies and confidence to begin recognising what they need for themselves.
To understand
To consider
“I think I need a Reset.”
